    Learn to Swim!
  • No mail-in applications will be accepted. Please call (714)278-5196 - from 8am-6pm, M-F to register.
  • Early Bird Registration - April 26th from 1pm-6pm at the Student Recreation Center, Cal State Fullerton.

What is Learn to Swim?

  • Learn to Swim is a water safety/group swim instruction program certified by the American Red Cross.

What is the Learn to Swim Philosophy?

  • The Learn to Swim program promotes a safe and fun swim environment where children feel comfortable learning and developing their water skills.

$22/Half hour 1 Child
$32/Half hour Semi Private (2 children at same level).

Who are the Team Members at the Learn to Swim Program?
  • All instructors are certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid/CPR and Water Safety Instruction.
  • Certified lifeguards are on deck at all times.
  • All team members are screened through a criminal background check, and participate in Learn To Swim specific training.

Who Can Participate in the Learn to Swim Program?

  • Children 6 months old and up can participate in the Learn to Swim Program.
  • Adult classes are also available.

How do I register?

  • In person at the Student Recreation Center or by phone, (714) 278 - 5196

What if I need to cancel a session?

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least two weeks prior to the start of the cancelled session to receive a full refund less $20.
  • Cancellation requests received after the deadline and prior to the first day of the session must be accompanied with a written medical excuse and will be refunded the total amount less $20.
  • No cancellation requests will be accepted during the session even if the child does not attend any portion of the session.
  • Please allow 3-4 weeks for a refund check to be mailed.

How Long Does Each Learn to Swim Session Last?

  • Each session meets 30 minutes per day for 10 days. Saturday classes meet for 40 minutes.

Where can I check in and check out my child for the Learn to Swim Program?

  • Check-in and Check-out are done on the pool deck each day. Parents and children can sit in the bleacher area until the instructor calls the class over to begin instruction.

Where do I park to drop off my child?

  • Parking is available in Faculty Lot-E-West in designated 45-minute parking stalls.
  • There are also 30-minute parking stalls available to the north of the Student Health Center located on Gymnasium Dr. (see map).

What are my payment options?

  • The following payment options are available for Learn To Swim: Visa, MasterCard, cash or check. All payments must be made in full at the time of registration.

Class Policy

  • With group lessons we reserve the right to recommend an alternative class if we believe it is in the best interest of the students. Classes may be cancelled or combined if minimum enrollment is not met.
  • No refunds or make ups for missed classes unless the department cancels the class. Swim diapers and protective pants are required for all children who are not toilet trained.
