I share an apartment in Orange with my son David, who is an Entertainment Arts major here at CSUF. In my free time I love to read, listen to all kinds of music and walk.

I've been working with children since 1996. I first started as a nanny for two children, ages 2 and 4. I worked as a child care provider at a fitness gym for a mixed age group. I've also had the opportunity to work as an aid for my old elementary school helping kindergarteners-third grade. Soon after I started my college career in 1997 I began to work at the Children's Center. I helped out in Sunshine room, then Rainbow room and ended up in Butterfly room. I left when I graduated in 2003. After graduating I wanted to make a difference by giving back to my community. I was fortunate enough to work with an organization known as Family Solutions Collaborative part of the Ontario-Montclair School District. There I led a free Mommy & Me program for Ontario residents who had children ages 0-5. The goal of the program was to educate parents to educate their children to be better prepared for the start of school. I worked there from 2003-2007. Since 2007, I am back at the Children's Center.

Philosophy:
|
I believe it's essential for parents-teachers-children to work constructively together to provide children with many great learning experiences. Working together gives us more insight about the child and helps us help him/her to grow in the areas of social/emotional, cognitive, and fine/gross motor. My goal for children is to foster independence; allowing them to do as much for themselves and/or with caring guidance when needed. I do this by providing a safe, clean and comfortable environment where they can explore on their own, taking out activities of interest and putting away when done. At the end, hoping that these little things help develop a responsible, independent human being.

A highlight of my day is to go home with something new that I've learned from the children. I'm also grateful for the laughter the children inspire in me by their witty and funny comments.
