Curtis Schlaufman
ASI President & CEO |
Curtis is in his fifth year at Cal State Fullerton, he will be serving as the Associated Students, Inc. President & CEO. He is majoring in Political Science. Curtis has been involved with ASI since his freshman year and has served on various University and ASI committees. Curtis has also served as the ASI Executive Vice President and the Chief Governmental Officer as a part of the ASI Executive Staff. He is the co-founder of the ASI Environmental Advocacy Committee and the ASI Department of Governmental Relations which will further the advocacy (student fees, financial aid, textbook affordability) efforts at CSUF and the CSU system. He also served as the Lobby Corps officer for California State Student Association. Curtis is confident that he and his staff will make this a successful year in battling student apathy and increasing student involvement. “We must all look forward and hope for the day when man realizes the sounds exiting his mouth are mostly complaints and a change occurs.” After graduating from CSUF, Curtis hopes to attend law or graduate school and pursue a career in politics or student affairs and possibly star on Saturday Night Live. Curtis’ favorite superhero is The Batman.

Maryam Marzara
ASI Executive Vice President |
Maryam is in her fifth and final year at Cal State Fullerton. She will be serving the CSUF Community as the Associated Students, Inc. Executive Vice President. She is majoring in Journalism, and pursuing a minor in Political Science. Maryam has been involved with various campus organizations and ASI Committees since her freshman year. Starting in 2004, she sat on the University Affairs Committee, and Academic Appeals Committee. She then got involved with the Greek Community, and eventually served as the Panhellenic Council President in 2007. She then earned the title of Greek Woman of the Year in late 2007. Maryam is a proud alumna of Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority. While she was dedicated to the Greek Community, Maryam also felt it was vital to stay connected with ASI so she joined Lobby Corps and served as the Community Outreach Officer. Maryam is a proud Titan and would not have it any other way. With regards to Maryam’s future, she stands by this quote, “I’ve learned that making a living is not the same thing as making a life.” She loves traveling to all ends of the world, and loves learning about other cultures. Wherever she goes in the future, she will always know she is forever a Titan!

Daniel Ramsey
ASI Vice-President of Finance |
Daniel Ramsey is a senior at Cal State Fullerton majoring in Political Science. He has been involved with ASI since his freshman year when he served as a student representative to several university committees. He continued his involvement by serving on the University Affairs Committee as Vice Chair his sophomore year. He served on the ASI Board of Directors in fall 2007 and was a member of the Finance Committee in spring 2008. Outside of ASI, Daniel worked for two years in the University’s Office of Institutional Research and Analytical Studies, interned with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC, and is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. Daniel is looking forward to a busy but exciting final year at Cal State Fullerton in his role of Vice President of Finance as he manages ASI’s finances and helps to provide resources to programs and organizations. After his time at Cal State Fullerton, Daniel plans to attend graduate school to study public policy and work in government.

Jay Carvin
Chief Administrative Officer |
Jay Carvin is a 4th year Business Marketing major. He’s had positions in various areas in ASI such as Titan Tusk Force, University Affairs, Finance, and the Board of Directors. He is currently the Chief Administrative Officer of ASI. His goal is to create opportunities for students to grow and share in the success of Cal State Fullerton. He plans to change the direction of University Affairs as well as develop an empowering culture for ASI. Jay will pursue entertainment marketing as a career after he graduates with his BA. Remember, “Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success… Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson. There is no doubt in Jay’s mind that this year will be ASI’s best yet. Make sure to find Jay for a kick-start in your college experience

Leo Otero
Chief Governmental Officer |
Leo Otero is a political science major at Cal State Fullerton. He is involved in the Pi Sigma Alpha honors society, the DC Internship club and is the Chief Governmental Officer for your ASI. This is his first year as an active member of ASI. In his spare time he enjoys coaching his U-16 boys club soccer team in Irvine, CA. Leo wants to take Lobby Corps to another level, it is time for our generation to take a more serious stake in the future of our country, Robert Kennedy once stated, “the answer to the world’s hope is to rely on youth, their quality of imagination, their predominance of courage over timidity, and their appetite for adventure over their love of ease.” Leo is quite a scholar. Leo plans on moving to Washington, DC next year. He wants to be a campaign manager. He’s ready to go right now!

Juliana Santos
Chief Communications Officer |
Juliana Santos is a third year Communicative Disorders major. She has been involved with ASI since her freshman year, and has served on several ASI and university-wide committees. As a freshman, she was appointed to be the Social Chair of Titan Tusk Force helping to plan special events for the committee. She also sat on the University Affairs Committee as a member at large. In the first semester of her sophomore year she was elected to serve on the ASI Board of Directors representing the College of Communications. Part of her duty as a Board representative was to serve on both, the Finance Committee and the Student Organizations Accessing Resources- Communications InterClub Council (SOAR-CICC). During her second semester as a sophomore, she was appointed to the position of Chief Communications Officer for the ASI Executive Staff. The growth she has experienced in her first two years at Cal State Fullerton is immeasurable. She is very excited to continue her involvement with ASI, and promote campus community and pride. She plans to make this year the best ever. Go Titans!
