Summer 2008 Show:
5/27/08 - 8/08/08 Jenna Starr: "Forgotten of Fullerton"
"Forgotten of Fullerton" is a series of black and white photographs taken in and around Fullerton, California. Focused on images that are not normally part of everyday life, this exhibit hopes to highlight a piece of Fullerton that most people care to forget about. Fullerton is more than just a thriving downtown district filled with bars and restaurants. It has a secret life and a hidden underbelly; both are rich with beauty.
The artist is an undergraduate business student at Cal State Fullerton. Photography became a passion at a young age. Her mother, Julie Starr, is an avid hobbyist and her grandfather, Robert Stanley, has won awards for his photography. Once she began asking questions about the process, Jenna learned to share in their passion.
Hopefully, she can share a little of her passion with you.
Fall 2008 Shows:

The paintings in this collection are my interpretation of the culture of Olvera Street in Los Angeles, California. Olvera Street is a place where the line between the past and the present is blurred.
I combine screen printed images, photo transfers, colored pencil drawings and varied styles of painting. Using all of these methods allow me to manipulate the surface as well as layer the work with multiple meanings and emotions. My goal is to capture a sense of being in between worlds: objectivity and subjectivity, tradition and consumption, the personal and the political, memory and living in the now.
