Mainframe Computer Lounge

The Mainframe Computer Lounge offers a welcoming environment for the campus community to access high speed computers, read current magazines and meet with friends. This contemporary lounge is located on the main level of the Titan Student Union and includes scanners and a TitanCard machine for printing.

The Mainframe offers CSUF students, faculty and staff free access to more than 30 PC workstations, with top of the line equipment for all the current needs. Each computer includes internet connection and features recent versions of popular office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. There are modest printing charges for those wishing to use the area's laser printers. The Mainframe has also recently acquired two Mac computers.

Laptops are available for pick-up at the Titan Student Union (TSU) in the Mainframe computer lab. The laptops must be returned 30 minutes before our service desk closes. Laptops may be taken outside of the Library or TSU.
Laptops may be checked out for FREE by currently enrolled CSUF students, with no holds, and are ideal for working on assignments and surfing the web. Students must present their TitanCard/photo I.D. to checkout a laptop.
Laptops can only be returned at the TSU Mainframe, not the library.
Note: Please save your work onto an external storage device or cloud based storage. Documents saved to the laptop will be deleted when the laptop is turned off or the lid is closed. SGC & TSU are not liable for any work lost whilst using the laptop.

One of the Mainframe Computer Lounge's goals is to provide a comfortable place for members of the community campus to relax and enjoy personal time. To meet the goal, guest can browse through the Lounge's current collection of popular magazines.

The Mainframe offers an ADA compliant computer workstation for the ease of disabled students and visitors. This workstation has an adjustable table for easier wheelchair accessibility, and is equipped with a larger monitor and keyboard. The computer also features a software program for visually impaired users that audibly reads text from Internet sites and word processing documents.

The Titan Student Union offers wireless Internet access in designated locations of the building. Students, faculty, and staff can access the Internet on their laptops in areas including lounges, offices, meeting rooms, the food court and outdoor patios. Visit the Information and Services desk for more information.
