ASI Designers Shine at ACUI

ASI’s Marketing, Communications, & Design department continued to produce award-winning marketing collateral in 2021, earning seven national “Steal This Idea” honors in this year’s annual design competition put on by the college union association ACUI.

Student graphic designers – now CSUF graduates – Bill Matthew Dee and YueTong Tsen teamed up to produce the 2021 Spring Concert campaign that garnered the first of three first place honors for the design team. Dee and Tsen topped the competition in the Digital Campaigns category, producing a comprehensive marketing and advertising campaign for ASI’s first-ever virtual Spring Concert event featuring host Bretman Rock, Louis the Child and Dominic Fike.

Graduate Jessie Vaage’s Pop Art-inspired election design’s were adapted for a digital only social media push in 2021 and earned her a first place nod in the competition’s Social Media Campaign category.

First-year ASI designer Alyssa Fujiwara developed large-format wall graphic for the Titan Student Union’s Titan Bowl & Billiards lobby. Her work on the retro-themed wall signage topped the Interior/Wall Art category, good for the team’s third first place award.

A team of student designers consisting of Alden Brownstone, Isa Ruiz, Felipe Reblora, Tsen, and Fujiwara finished in second place for their work on a promotional giveaway pack containing five original die-cut stickers to be handed out at various ASI events.

Reblora, also in his first year with ASI, earned an honorable mention for his neon jungle themed “Concert at the Becker” in the promotional campaign category. His work was used for both print and digital materials advertising the event.

In addition to the student work, professional staff member Mike Greenlee earned a pair of third place honors for his work on the Titan Recreation mobile app, and the logo/branding efforts for The Pantry, ASI’s newly-formed food pantry located on the main level of the Titan Student Union.
