Manaswini Surusomayajula

Candidate for Board of Directors, College of Business and Economics

Candidate Slogan

Data-Driven Leadership. Insight for Impact. Manaswini for CBE, CSUF.

Candidate Biography

I am Manaswini Surusomayajula and as a Master’s student in Information Systems with a concentration in Business Analytics, I believe that the future of the College of Business and Economics (CBE) lies in making smarter, data-driven decisions.

My experience isn’t just about technical expertise; it’s about using that knowledge to solve real problems. I am running for the ASI Board of Directors because I want to ensure that every Titan has the resources, networking opportunities, and academic support needed to thrive in the 2026 workforce.

Throughout my graduate studies, I have developed a sharp eye for identifying gaps and creating efficient solutions. I plan to bring this analytical approach to ASI to advocate for Enhanced Career Readiness, Resource Transparency and Inclusive Advocacy.

I am a problem-solver by trade and a Titan by heart. I’m not just looking for a seat at the table; I’m looking to build a better one for all of us.

Candidate Statement/Platform

My Vision for CBE As we navigate the academic year of 2026, the intersection of business and technology has never been more critical. As a Master’s student specializing in Business Analytics, I see firsthand how data can be used to drive efficiency and create opportunities.

My goal as your Director is to move beyond “guessing” what students need and start using “insight” to deliver results. I am running for the ASI Board of Directors to be a strategic, transparent, and tireless advocate for the 30000+ students within the College of Business and Economics.

My Platform: The Three Pillars of Progress

1) Career Readiness for the 2026 Job Market: The professional landscape is shifting rapidly with AI and advanced analytics. I will work with the CBE Career Center to expand specialized workshops that go beyond the basics. We need hands-on networking with Orange County’s tech and finance leaders and certification support for tools like Python, Tableau, and AI-driven strategy. I want every CBE student from accounting to marketing to graduate with a “tech-forward” edge.

2) Advocating for Graduate and Commuter Student Needs: A significant portion of our college consists of graduate students and working professionals who cannot always access campus resources between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. I will advocate for Expanded After-Hours Support Ensuring financial aid, advising, and basic needs services have designated evening or virtual hours.

Hybrid Engagement: Pushing for “high-flex” networking events and club meetings that allow commuters to participate without the 57 freeway struggle.

3) Data-Driven Transparency in ASI You pay student fees, and you deserve to know exactly how they are working for you. Using my analytics background, I will push for clearer, more accessible reporting on ASI budget allocations. I want to identify which programs are actually delivering value to CBE students and ensure our college’s voice is the loudest when it comes to funding for student-centered facilities.

Why Me?

In my graduate studies, I’ve learned that the most powerful tool isn’t a complex algorithm but it’s the ability to listen to a narrative and find a solution. I am committed to listening to your stories, challenges, and ideas. Whether you are a first year undergraduate or a final year MBA student, I am here to ensure your investment in Cal State Fullerton pays off.

Let’s stop reacting to the future and start building it. I ask for your vote to bring analytical leadership and student-focused advocacy to the ASI Board.
