Candidate Slogan

“It’s not about how many resources you have, its about how resourceful you are.”

Candidate Biography
Hello, my name is Mia Montalvo. I am a third-year transfer student majoring in kinesiology. I transferred from Ventura College, where I earned my associate degree, which has motivated me to pursue a doctorate in kinesiology in hopes of becoming the first in my family to graduate.

I strive to become a successful physical therapist who is able to help others. Outside of school, I love to dance and read, and I prioritize my physical health and well-being. However, spending time with my friends and family is probably my favorite thing to do. I am a very active individual who enjoys getting involved, meeting new people, and setting goals. I am outgoing and highly goal-oriented.

Candidate Statement/Platform

If I am elected, I would strive to increase student engagement in mental and physical health and well-being. I hope to achieve this by creating interactive events where students feel seen and supported not only by the community, but by the campus as well. Whether it is a fun event at the SRC or inviting a guest speaker to share their experiences, my goal is to create meaningful connections.

I hope these events will encourage students to view health and wellness as engaging and accessible, while sparking interest in discussions about living a healthy lifestyle that fits their personal needs and expectations.
