Candidate Biography
Hi there! My name is Jocelyn Ambrose, and I am a business information systems major with plans to graduate in spring 2027. I am currently a junior who has been at CSUF for the past three years. I love animals, fashion, and photography, and before I graduate, it is my dream to continue building community on campus. I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a board member of the Fullerton Fashion Association and as president of a South Asian cultural club. I’ve gained experience in leadership, collaboration, and event planning. Through these roles, I’ve learned the importance of creating inclusive spaces and making sure everyone feels represented. For a long time, I was drawn to ASI but questioned whether my voice was strong enough to make an impact. I’ve since realized that every voice matters, and I’m ready to step up and advocate for students. I truly want to bring my creativity, leadership experience, and dedication to student engagement for ASI. My goal is to help ensure that every student at Cal State Fullerton feels heard, supported, and connected to campus life.
Candidate Statement/Platform
I personally want to continue increasing student culture to its absolute maximum potential. If elected, my goal is to help students feel more connected, engaged, and proud to be part of the CSUF community. I believe that college should be more than just attending classes and leaving campus; it should feel like a place where students belong.
As a student who has been at CSUF for three years, I have seen firsthand how disconnected campus life can sometimes feel, especially for commuters and transfer students. That is why my first priority is strengthening school spirit and student engagement in both social spaces and academic settings. Even something as simple as feeling connected in the classroom can make a big difference in a student’s overall experience. I hope to work on creating more inclusive events, supporting student organizations, and encouraging collaboration across campus to build a stronger sense of community. I want students from all backgrounds to feel seen, welcomed, and represented. By improving communication between students and the student government, I aim to make sure student voices are heard and acted on. I also want to continue creating unique and exclusive events and perks that make the CSUF student experience feel one-of-a-kind.
Ultimately, I want CSUF to feel like more than a campus; I want it to feel like a community we all deserve. College experiences should feel like a special time for all students. I really believe that if I can put myself out there for the student board, I can help students feel more included to put themselves out there. If elected, I am committed to fostering school spirit, promoting inclusivity, and helping students feel excited and proud to be part of Titan life.
