13 Nov Dance the Night Away: Student Recreation Center’s Salsa Night Hits the Floor on Nov. 21
Cal State Fullerton students, faculty and staff looking to dance to the rhythm can attend the Associated Students Inc.’s first-ever Salsa Night on Nov. 21, from 6-9 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center basketball courts. To participate in this celebration of Latin dance, interested attendees can RSVP on the Titan Recreation website.
Hosted in collaboration with the CSUF Sabor Latino Social Club, Salsa Night offers participants the opportunity to explore Latin dance through instructor-led teaching, build community and celebrate cultural expression, whether they’re stepping onto the floor for the first time or already seasoned dancers.

“Our collaboration with the SRC has opened a lot of new opportunities for us as a club,” Sabor Latino Social Club Vice President Ariana Cuevas said. “We encourage students to take part in this event as it encourages everyone to make dance a way to destress and meet new people.”
The evening will kick off with a guided dance lesson led by Angel Ramos, ASI’s Outdoor Adventures coordinator and seasoned salsa instructor, giving attendees the chance to learn the basics in a supportive environment. Afterward, they can enjoy a mix of salsa classics and contemporary Latin hits, with catered food from Tacos de Anda.

“The main goal of Salsa Night is to celebrate art and help students experience the freedom of expression through dance,” said Ramos. “Dance is a universal language, no matter where you are in the world, you can connect through it.”
The overwhelming turnout of more than 1,000 attendees at ASI’s Banda Night in September underscored the strong need for spaces that celebrate music, culture, and community at Cal State Fullerton.
“We want to reach every student on campus by providing a space that’s both accessible and affordable,” said Ramos.

Food, music and social activities will round out the evening, creating a space for attendees to dance, connect and celebrate together. Salsa Night is part of ASI’s ongoing commitment to cultural engagement and inclusive programming, supporting its mission to create cross-cultural understanding and shared experiences.
“There’ll be a mix of music everyone can dance to, from bachata to merengue,” said Ramos. “It’s a beautiful celebration of culture where everything is done to welcome you, help you feel immersed and encourage you to express yourself and enjoy the moment.”
