My name is Edward Montalvo and my main instrument is the Cello. I have always
loved teaching and have substituted for many other Cellist. I have also enjoyed my
time in the CSUF symphonic orchestra and other groups such as the CSUF Cello
Choir. These experiences have embellished my love for the arts and provided me
opportunities to experience new places like South Korea and New York. In
addition, something that sets me apart is that work alongside my father as a
Plumber. Since I am a full time student, I help more with paperwork but it has
helped create a stronger bond with my family. One positive experience that I have
with ASI is through Arts Inter-club Council. I am currently the Vice Chair and it has
given me various opportunities to help students clubs by funding events, speakers,
and/or food. This opportunity gave me first-hand experience with the financial
process and teamwork with the ASI staff. I can’t wait to help build the College of the
Arts to new heights!
I hope to help by advocating for arts student by providing through empowerment.
Something that I will work to is to creating more opportunities for students to
connect and work along-side industry leaders. I hope to make sure students are
provided opportunities to express their art and create a lasting connection. I also
hope to expand the music program by creating networks with different schools to
help current and upcoming students through education. It’s often the people who
are doing what we love who inspire us and by integrating Music Education majors
early, they can obtain real-world experience while inspiring future Titans.
Art through art is art
