As a transfer student from Cerritos College, I am still learning a lot about the school
but I have found amazing people working together to make the campus a space for
everyone. While only being a Titain for less than a year I have found support and
communities that I can lean on for help with studying, expences, and advice about
the different ways to reach my goals.
I am thankful to have found my people and I want to be a voice and someone that
they can depend on like the people that I have found. I want to be able to listen and
understand what the Art Students need and be someone that they can trust to do
what is needed in the meetings and with the other members. I plan to accomplish a
good relationship between the College of the Arts and the other colleges on
campus, showing them that we work just as hard as they do to meet our goals and
earn our degrees. I also want to find out the largest issues that we as art majors are
facing and see if anything can be done to change it or make it easier on us. My plan
is for the students in COTA to get to know me and for me to know them, this way
making it easier to understand the views and possibilities for change. Along with
the fun and inviting posters that are around the art buildings, I plan to have my
own posters with a QR code to get a better sense of what ideas the other students
have along with my own and find more people to help bounce ideas around with.
With being in different leadership positions and different industries for work, such
as retail, food, and safety, I have a better understanding of how some things need
to be approached differently and how to go about that. I hope to be someone that
the students can trust and someone that will live up to the expectations that are
set. When I am committed to something, especially my future colleagues, I will
always have the best intentions in mind and make sure that everything is as fair as
possible. I will always keep my line of communitations open and my mind open.
