Seeking Candidacy for: Board of Directors, College of the Business and Economics

Biography:

Shay Quock is a third-year student majoring in Business Administration, Marketing.
Shay joined ASI in Fall 2023 as a Governance Ambassador, and joined the Board of
Directors in Fall 2024. He enjoys being an outstanding advocate for students at our
school, especially students within his college. As a member of the board, Shay has
worked hard to communicate all the different resources on campus to our
students. Additionally, he has worked at the Daily Titan for a year as an Account
Executive. Shay has a strong background in community service and a track record
of caring and making a difference everywhere he goes.

Statement/Platform:

I have three goals that I am currently working on and would like to continue
working on. My first goal is to enhance CBE marketing. Our college does a great job
in providing our students with resources that can help set them up for success. I
plan to continue working closely with our marketing department to find a way to
best promote our available student resources. This ties into my next goal, I would
like to empower our students in their career pursuits by introducing a set of skillbuilding
workshops. This would cover resume crafting, interview techniques,
strategic networking, and effective use of career tools such as LinkedIn and
Handshake. Finally, I want to gather more student feedback. Our students pay
thousands of dollars for tuition, and deserve to receive the college education and
experience that they deserve. Gathering student feedback will help us make
appropriate adjustments to ensure all our students receive what they deserve.
