My name is Jades Rodriguez, and I am a third-year Political Science major with minors in Chicano Studies and Sociology. As a first-generation Latina, I am deeply committed to advocacy, social justice, and creating equitable opportunities for underrepresented communities. My passion for leadership and mentorship stems from my involvement in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), where I found a supportive community that has been instrumental in my academic success. As a peer mentor, I have had the privilege of guiding fellow students through the challenges of higher education, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.Beyond EOP, I serve as a board member for Hermanas Unidas de CSUF, an organization dedicated to empowering women in higher education through mentorship, networking, and professional development. My leadership experience extends into the legal field, where I work at a criminal defense law firm, assisting attorneys and advocating for second chances for individuals navigating the justice system.I am eager to bring my passion for advocacy, mentorship, and student empowerment to this board position. I believe that through collaboration, representation, and strategic initiatives, we can foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Hello Titans! My name is Jades Rodriguez, and I am running to be your next ASI representative because I believe in putting students first and ensuring every voice on campus is heard. As a first-generation Latina, peer mentor, and student leader, I understand the challenges many of us face, whether it’s balancing academics with work, struggling to find the right resources, or feeling disconnected from decision- makers on campus. My goal is to bridge that gap and ensure that students and administration work together for the benefit of everyone. If elected, I will work to advocate for resources for all student groups, ensuring that students have access to the tools they need to succeed. Whether it’s academic support, financial aid assistance, mental health resources, or cultural spaces, I will fight for funding and programs that benefit all students. As a peer mentor for EOP, I have seen firsthand how crucial it is to create a community of support, and I want to extend that across campus so that no student feels left behind. I also believe that transparency is key, students should always be informed about where their fees are going, what decisions are being made on their behalf, and how they can be involved in shaping the future of CSUF. I will push for clear communication between ASI and students, ensuring that your concerns are heard and addressed. Additionally, I want to focus on building a bridge between administration and students, making sure that student voices are not only acknowledged but actively included in decision-making processes. Too often, students feel disconnected from those making policies that directly affect them, I will work to change that by advocating for more student representation in important conversations and ensuring that administrators truly listen to and understand student needs. As someone who has worked closely with both student organizations and administration in my roles with Hermanas Unidas, EOP, and other leadership positions, I know how important it is to create a campus where students feel empowered and supported. I want to make sure that CSUF is a place where all students, regardless of background can succeed, feel safe, and know that their voices matter. I am committed to working for you, listening to your concerns, and making sure that ASI is an organization that truly serves the students. Together, we can create a stronger, more connected, and more transparent CSUF. Vote Jades Rodriguez for ASI, and let’s put students first!
