My name is Chris Manlove and I am a CS major with a minor in mathematics. Previously, I attended Orange Coast College, where I was actively involved in student leadership, serving as the Inter-Club Council (ICC) Historian and then later as the ICC Vice President. Outside of school, I have demonstrated leadership by becoming an Eagle Scout and working as a Software Developer Lead. I have lots of experience helping others succeed in their roles, leading projects to completion, and mentoring interns. My technical background, leadership experience, and commitment to student involvement make me an ideal candidate to represent the students of the College of Engineering and Computer Science!
As one of the ASI Board Directors, my primary agenda item is to bridge the gap between students and the career opportunities that still do exist in the field. With my technical and professional experience, I plan to get more career fairs, internship opportunities, and research opportunities present at CSUF so that all of our students can succeed in their post-school professional careers.
Also, I wish to advocate for more transparency and ease of finding events and services offered by CSUF. Students should know about all the opportunities the school offers, how to take advantage of them, and where to find more information.
If elected, I will advocate for:
– More Career Fairs and Industry Connections
– Improved Communication on Opportunities
– Stronger Support for Student Clubs and Student Run Events
With my background in student government, software development, and professional leadership, I am confident that I can be a strong advocate for all of us. Overall, I want every student to have the opportunities that they need to not only succeed in school, but succeed in their professional lives as well.
More Opportunities and More Success for Everyone!
