Colson Houck Teal
Seeking Candidacy for: Board of Directors, College of Humanities and Social Science

Biography:

My name is Colson Houck Teal and I am a third-year political science major pursuing an additional minor in philosophy. In my time at CSUF, I have had many incredible opportunities to advance my interest in social sciences as a member of the Moot Court team, the Cal State D.C. Scholars program, the Pre-Law Society, and by serving as the Director of the ASI Community Engagement Commission. I enjoy pushing myself to achieve excellence and add something new to the communities I am a part of, always choosing to lead by example and uplift my fellow students. Outside of school, I am an active member of the local community where I volunteer with the Rotary Club of Placentia and work with local leaders on issues important to my community.

Statement/Platform:

If elected to serve as your representative on the ASI Board of Directors for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences I will have two main goals, to bring additional attention and resources to the amazing programs and opportunities our college has to offer its students, and second to serve as a voice for our college on matters important to the student body. Access to specialized programs and services can make all the difference in our college experience, and can give CSUF students a major advantage in furthering our goals for the future. I know this from first hand experience having been apart of many. As your representative it will be my goal to boost the recognition, and therefore support for these programs so that every member of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will be able to have continued access to these great educational resources. Furthermore as a member of the ASI Board of Directors I will make sure that the voice of the students of our college is heard when issues important to us all are up for discussion. For example, we have all have heard about one or two crazy stories happening in our parking structures, it would be one of my top priorities to make sure students wishes for security cameras in parking structures are heard and met with action!

Campaign Slogan/Tagline:

A voice for our programs and our needs!
