Hello, my name is Vrund Thakkar, and I am a Master’s student with a strong foundation in software development, data analytics, and project management. I am passionate about using technology to drive innovation and solve real-world problems.
I have extensive leadership experience, having served as the Director of Media, Innovation & Technology at an EdTech startup and as a mentor and chairperson for organizations like IEEE and the International Society of Automation. Additionally, I have contributed to over 50 events, fostering collaboration and student engagement.
At CSUF, I work as a System/Logistics Student Assistant, improving IT operations and enhancing network infrastructure. My active involvement in Hindu Yuva, the Indian Students Association, and the International Friendships Club reflects my commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and student advocacy.
If elected to the ASI Board of Directors, I will work to enhance student opportunities, advocate for resources, and promote collaboration across disciplines. I am eager to contribute and make a meaningful impact on our student community!
Hello Titans! My name is Vrund Thakkar, and I am running for the ASI Board of Directors to be your voice and advocate. My goal is to foster inclusivity, enhance student engagement, and ensure that all students have a say in the decisions that shape their university experience.
Empowering Student Voices in Decision-Making
Many university decisions are made without direct student input, leading to policies that may not fully reflect student needs. I want to bridge this gap by ensuring students are actively involved in discussions on academic policies, campus development, and resource allocation. If elected, I will advocate for more student representation in administrative meetings, ensuring that student concerns, ideas, and aspirations are heard and addressed.
Fostering Inclusion and Diversity
CSUF is home to a richly diverse student body, and every student should feel valued and included. I will work closely with cultural organizations, student clubs, and affinity groups to create an environment where all voices are represented. By collaborating on events and initiatives that celebrate diversity, we can strengthen our sense of belonging and mutual respect on campus.
Bridging the Gap Between Students and Administration
Students often feel disconnected from university leadership and unaware of changes affecting them. I aim to enhance transparency and communication by organizing student forums, surveys, and town hall meetings. These platforms will give students a direct channel to voice their opinions and provide feedback that influences university policies.
Enhancing Student Resources and Support
University life extends beyond academics—it includes mental health, career readiness, and financial well-being. If elected, I will work to:
Expand mental health resources with more accessible counseling services. Enhance career development programs, including networking events, mentorships, and skill-building workshops.
Improve transparency in financial aid, ensuring students receive clear and timely support.
Creating a More Engaging and Collaborative Campus Experience
A thriving student community is built on engagement, interaction, and collaboration. I will support student-led initiatives, cultural events, and leadership opportunities that bring students together across disciplines. Encouraging cross- cultural dialogue will enrich our learning experience and promote inclusivity.
Why Your Vote Matters
I am committed to ensuring that every student at CSUF has a voice in shaping their university experience. I will work tirelessly to advocate for student concerns, create inclusive opportunities, and strengthen student-administration collaboration.
A vote for me is a vote for representation, inclusion, and meaningful change. Let’s build a stronger, more connected CSUF together!
I appreciate your support and look forward to serving as your advocate in the ASI Board of Directors.
